If you or someone you know is a victim of identity theft, please visit www.consumer.gov/idtheft

The information you enter there becomes part of a secure database that’s used by law enforcement officials across the nation to help stop identity thieves. The site also has links to useful information from other federal agencies, states and consumer organizations.

You may also want to call 1-877-ID-THEFT, the FTC’s toll-free ID Theft Hotline, where counselors help consumers who want or need more information about dealing with the consequences of identity theft.

You have the right to obtain a free copy of your credit file disclosure, commonly called a credit report, once every 12 months, from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies – Equifax, Experian and Transunion.

For instant access to your free credit report, visit:
www.annualcreditreport.com
Or
Call 1-877-322-8228

Annual Credit Report Request Forms can also be obtained from the Bedford Park Police Department Elder Services Officer.
