2012 Police Candidate Recruit List
The Bedford Park Police Department is pleased to release the 2012 Police Recruit Candidate List. Fifty-five (55) candidates made the list after having over 140 applications accepted. The candidates successfully completed written, physical, and interview testing. Congratulations to all.
2012 Recruit Test List
Sergeant Thomas Hansen Graduates from SPSC #320
The Bedford Park Police Department is pleased to announce the recent graduation of Sergeant Thomas Hansen from the School of Police Staff and Command (SPSC) at Northwestern University. Lt. Lettiere completed the ten week Staff and Command program on January 13, 2012. The School of Police Staff and Command provides upper-level college instruction in a total of twenty-two core or mandatory blocks of instruction and utilizes nine additional optional blocks of instruction. The major topics of study include: Management and Management Theory, Organizational Behavior, Human Resources for Law Enforcement, Budgeting, Staffing Allocation and Personnel Deployment. Congratulations to Sgt. Tom Hansen.
Police Officer Position Available
The Bedford Park Police Department is pleased to announce that we will be accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Applications will be made available 12/1/2011 through 12/31/2011. Applications may be downloaded off the website or picked up at the station. Completed applications must be submitted in person at the Police station. There is a $25 application fee due upon submission.
Only the first 150 completed applications will be accepted.

PRESS RELEASE - November 17, 2011
At approximately 0800 hrs the Bedford Park Police Department received a 911 call of a domestic disturbance at Fed Ex Ground 5151 W. 73rd St. While units were in route, several 911 calls of shots being fired at the same facility were being received.
Bedford Park units and surrounding agencies responded to the scene. Law enforcement assisted employees to exit the building and secured the building. The 5th District SWAT team was called in to assist.
The SWAT team made entry and discovered the shooter had taken his own life. The shooter (name being withheld until next of kin can be notified) was armed with a handgun (revolver).
No other injuries have been reported.

Lt. Peter Lettiere Graduates from SPSC #305
